            CIT Role and Responsibilities

Counselors-In-Training (CITs) are supervised by the Camp Directors and lead instructors.  CITs are responsible for guiding and supporting children ages 3-14 through daily farm and garden activities and transitions during each 5-day camp session between July 9 and August 17.  Staff training is mandatory and will occur at the Hampshire College Farm Center.

Farm and Garden Camp CITs are enthusiastic about working with young people, have a love of the outdoors and all things agricultural, and are interested in enhancing their leadership skills, including communication, teamwork, decision making, developing increased confidence, caring, responsibility, respect, organization and creativity.  The CIT position is for young people (15 to 20 years old) who are highly motivated, ready to accept the additional responsibility of leadership, and enthusiastic team players.

We believe our camp community is strengthened by diversity.  We are an equal opportunity employer.
